For the remainder of the semester—to put context to learning design workflow—you will be designing an election campaign for a Baltimore City Councilman. To make this experience better replicate how an agency operates you will have a chance to interview a councilman today who is running for election in November.

You are trying to ask questions with two goals in mind. One, who is the candidate and what do they stand for? This information should come across to anyone who views the designs created for the campaign. Two, what is the scope of the project. For example, is there a TV commercial or a radio spot in addition to a website and postcards. Keep in mind that in the end it’s your job to recommend to the client what they need for a successful campaign, but it is a good idea to see what their expectations are.
