This semester long project is also going to generate the content for your second to last project, so keeping up with this assignment and taking it very seriously is critical. The more diligent you are on the front-end of this project the greater benefit to you later in the semester, and in your portfolio.

To get started you will need to sign up for a free account over at 365 Project and send the URL to your new 365 Project to my UMBC email address. You will be required to take more photos of type than you can post to your 365 Project. Each week I will be sharing a link with you to upload all your photos on this assignment page.

Now, this is what you will be doing. Everyday you are required to take a photograph of typography you find in the world around you. You don’t have to upload the pictures everyday, but I will check that you are doing your work every Wednesday morning starting 02.07.18.

If you don’t keep up with your daily pictures you will loose points and make life very hard on yourself!

Feel free to use any type of camera, from your cell phone to a DSLR. However, please note that you will be using these photos later on for a project, so the higher the resolution, the more flexibility you will have. Also note, this isn’t about your photography skills, this is about examining typography in the world around you and simply recording that observation.

Each week will have a different objective or theme for you to follow. To stop you from jumping a head in the project, details won’t be revealed until the preceding class you are supposed to start photographing. To get you started, I’ve posted a link to my own 365 Project.

Grading
